Britt’s Basset Hound Kennel
Sales Contract for Puppies Sold for Pets
Entered on this_______ day of ___________ 2007, By Victor and Sheri Britt (hereinafter known as the “Seller’s” and __________________________( hereinafter known as the Purchaser (s)”).
Thank you for considering purchasing one of our bassets. Upon placing your deposit on the puppy of your choice, you understand that the deposit is non-refundable. If your puppy becomes ill or dies while still in our possession, we will put your deposit towards another puppy. If there are no available littermates remaining that you like, we will refund your deposit immediately.
Upon receiving your puppy you have 72 hours (weekends & holidays excluded) from that date to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian. If the veterinarian finds that the puppy has a life threatening hereditary condition that makes it a health risk, we will replace the puppy with another one that is available. If no puppies are available in the current litter, you will be notified of the next planned litter. We cannot guarantee if and when we will have a puppy of the same color or sex. No cash refunds given. Transportation and Purchaser’s Veterinarian cost will be the Purchaser’s responsibility. Seller reserves the right to confirm the problem(s) by our own vet. If the puppy has sustained health problems resulting from an injury or mistreatment after leaving us we do not assume responsibility for it. A written statement from your veterinarian must be sent to Britt’s Bassets stating the puppy’s condition and what it will take to correct it. The original puppy must be returned at the Purchaser’s expense. We will not be responsible for any medical bills pertaining to your puppy once it leaves our care and kennel.
Purchaser(s) is aware that the puppy may or may not comply strictly with the AKC’s stringent standards for show dogs for this breed. All of our puppies are of pet quality. We can give no guarantee that he/she can produce. We cannot guarantee the quality of the puppies he/she will produce. Please research the basset hound breed itself before attempting to start a breeding program.
Purchaser(s) will seek and provide competent veterinary care for the dog throughout its life. Including, but not limited to, annual physical examinations, DHLPP boosters and rabies vaccinations, as required by law.
Purchaser(s) agree to keep the pet either in their home or in a suitable contained area adjacent to the Purchaser(s) residence. Purchaser(s) will not chain or allow the pet to roam at large.
We want to provide families with bassets that are healthy and very happy. We know that when you purchase a dog of any kind, you want it to be a member of your family for as long as possible. If at anytime you are unable to continue to provide the necessary care for your puppy/dog please feel free to contact us. We will either help in finding a suitable new home or be more than glad to accept our puppies/dogs back home. AKC/CKC papers would need to be provided to the Seller(s). Transportation or kennel costs would be Purchaser(s) responsibility.
